Work hard....play harder
I know I am really lucky. Because, each time I look at pictures from a Disney trip, I think that was the best time ever. I love the idea of a group of adult friends enjoying Disney together. Talking to one of my friends at work led to this trip. Talking to another friend led to having breakfast with the Princess's in Cinderella's Castle. At this point I had been to Disney about a half of a dozen times. I didn't even know there was a restaurant in the Castle. I love everything about the Castle. The trip where my daughter and I arrived by ourselves and stayed in hotel on property was the one of the best.
We stayed at Port Orleans and you could take a boat to the Ferry to Fantasyland. As we approached the Castle I was overcome with emotion. I got chills, my legs got weak and I thought I was going to cry. I always am at awe at the courage it took to build this place. And, appreciate all the joy it brings to the masses. But, in talking to my friend she was telling me how you can make reservations to have breakfast in the castle. You can call 90 days before your trip and at 9am call and make a reservation. I read up about it, before a trip with my friends from work. I made a point of being off that day, to make the call. The phone was busy every time I called. I kept trying and got through and got the reservation. If you don't get through the first fifteen minutes, that means they are booked for the day.
Not, only do you get to meet every Princess, but before you go in you get to meet the Fairy Godmother and tell her your wishes. It was amazing! The breakfast itself was excellent. One of the funniest parts was we each chose a crown based on our favorite princess, before we went in. We also met another co-worker who brought her nephew and asked as we were seated if two more could join us? Knowing how hard it was to make the reservation, we weren't too sure how this would go. They couldn't have been more accommodating. So, the hostess went to seat us, she asked our co-worker who didn't know about the whole crown thing. "Where is your crown?" And, Michelle answered she didn't have one. She told Michelle, "hold out your hand". Michelle held out her hand and she poured some glitter. She said, "This is Tink's glitter and you are going to need this to get through breakfast with this crew!" and then she turned to her nephew who was about ten and said "You don't need anything, you are having breakfast with a bunch of princesses". It set the mood for the beginning of a perfect day in Disney. We took so many pictures that breakfast and I know I laughed so hard it hurt. Then at the end of the meal, Prince Charming came to greet us. He invited us all to dine with him at dinner. We all looked at each other and without much thought we all said "Sure!". It is really nice to know you are going to have a place to sit, after a long day in the park. I remember I had prime rib, champagne and for desert a chocolate cinderella slipper. When the check came I remember thinking it was worth every penny. Then Prince Charming came to our table, and asked if everything went well, and we gushed with how wonderful everything was. He told us not to leave, and we were ready to go outside to see the fireworks. But, he came back with a platter of boxes tied with satan ribbons. Inside were Cinderella etched champagne glasses and mugs for each of us. Wow! Dreams come true and especially when they are shared with friends.
