A Whole New World

This vacation, Glen planned the entire trip.  It was one of my favorites.  We had Las Vegas as our base, horseback riding at Red Rock, visited the Grand Canyon and rented a car to go to California.  I never thought I would ever end up at Disneyland.  So, I was very happy and the kids were a great age for this trip.  Once, children start school it is difficult to plan trips to Disney.  Because, the parks are so busy during school breaks.  This was probably the last summer before they both started working, also.  Once they entered High School, they started working ,and became active in band and Drama, it was impossible.  Except, when Ian marched with the High School band in Disney World, we went each time to witness that.   One day was enough for Disneyland.  It is much smaller and compact then Disney World.  We spent most of out time in the California Park.  We were able to go on Soarin' before it went to Epcot in Florida.  Ian and Kaylyn were still happy to take lots of pictures, which made me happy, too.
So, time is so precious.  Opportunities were grabbed when available.  One of the things I can't imagine going back to normal are amusement parks.  Maybe, I am overthinking everything.  But, it is hard to imagine concerts, music festivals and Disney the same as they were.  We have much better security, with long lines to go with it.  But, how cautious will they become.  These have always been places where you can lose all your troubles.  Then there is the thought of the cruise industries, airlines and hotels.  They were always good with sanitizing.  But, I imagine now, it will be much stricter.
So, I am appreciating the memories and looking forward to the future with caution.  Hoping by the time my grandson is a good age to take to Disney, everything will have calmed down.
One good thing came out of this was the Disney Family Sing Along on ABC TV.  I thought it was great.  Really enjoyed all the Disney songs sung by contemporary talent.  Yesterday, I went to You Tube and exercised to Disney Music to get motivated to make the scrapbooks.  I can't wait to see what I get done.  I ended up food shopping this weekend, which took up most of my time and energy.  There were lines at Costco, like Disney.  But, it wasn't fun and really drained my spirits.  The people that work there deserve medals.  A lot of sanitizing including the carts and and after each customer  checks out, there is someone that sanitizes each area.
