The Sun is Also a Star

This is my Thanksgiving post. I would like to thank all of the writers, musicians and artists who tell their stories and share them with the world. I would also like to thank strangers, who I encounter. who are storytellers. Yesterday I had a bad day, and I encountered several people who turned my day around. They shared kind words with me and complimented me. They had no idea how much I needed kindness and encouragement. One told me a story that was dreadful. But, there she was standing up and encouraging me through her own horror story. I woke up this morning hearing the sounds of the wind howling. I remembered the rainy forecast for today. So, I was going to just stay in bed. But, there was a bit of an orange glow coming through the window. I quickly grabbed a book I can't wait to read and headed out the door. As I walked straight to the sunrise. I couldn't help but think. Why is this beautiful sky just right before me and clouds are everywhere else? And, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the colors were admidst the gloom. And, then all the feelings I have had watching a sunrise came flooding through. Not only is the sun a star, it is a rock star! Sorry Bruce Springsteen fans, but it is even more exciting then being at the front of a concert. It warms my heart and truly rocks my world. It is a mood changer! It is the most powerful thing I have ever witnessed with my own eyes. And, it is free! And, it happens all over the world, but with each different set of eyes, it is seen differently. I'll be sharing some pictures and videos on my instagram stories this morning. Living alone with the holidays quickly approaching can be difficult. I indulged in something for myself this year. It is an advent calender from Lauduree with parisian sweets. I am kinda obsessed with Lauderee. It is a french bakery and confectionery store originating in Paris. I became familiar with it from social media and artists who would paint pictures of macarons. The Fork in the Road

I am in this really deep place on this journey to joy. I don't know how to look forward without looking back. So this morning I was looking in the rearview mirrow. I was listening to the same music I listened to in my dorm room back in college when I was 19. Forty more years later, I feel pretty much the same. I am thinking of the future, not really knowing what it is going to be like. I have an idea of how I would like it be, just don't know how it will turn out. I am still sorting, purging and donating. In a week I move out of the house I have been living. The house I was supposed to retire in. The house to rest easy in. Instead, I am packing my bags and getting ready to move on. I am thankful every morning to wake with a feeling of optimism. I also still feel no matter what choices I made in life, they have all been good ones. Take Joy

I finished the wreath! I haven't been able to accomplish so much in one day in a lonnnng time. Bought a tree and had it decorated by 3pm! I am amazed and found joy in doing it. Here is something I read in the beginning of December, which always helps: I salute you. I am your friend, and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not.
