Happy Hour

Luckily, one of the goals I set for myself this Spring is easy to achieve while being isolated at home.  And, it will get me through this time a little easier.  We can still buy flowers during a pandemic!  Last year in the Fall, Glen was pulling the weeds in the patio.  I decided to try to help him.  They were really hard to pull up!  That's it, I thought, we have been here for seven years (really nine when I took the time lately, to really think about it).  We have this space and we don't use it.  So,  when I saw I could get an outdoor rug for $14.99 at Christmas Tree Shoppe, I jumped at the chance.  I also bought the planters and a 3 piece patio set.  I bought a lot of Spring flowers, that will be replanted in the front of the house.  I'll replace with seeds, to see what I can grow back there.  It gets a lot of sun, and most of all I am looking forward to growing some morning glories to grow on the back wall.  I love the moss growing though the stones, but need to keep it covered to keep down the weeds.
I have been thinking about my grandparents a lot lately.  One of my favorite memories with them was to ride my bicycle to their house and join them for happy hour.  My grandfather had a club soda and my grandmother had a Guinness Stout every day.  They would have a little snack.  And, I would have a mini can of soda.  We weren't allowed to drink soda at home, unless it was a special occasion.  This week it hasn't been the best weather.  It is cold and very windy.  But, most importantly, I have something to look forward too.  Can't wait to take pictures, especially as the flowers bloom.
