Who's the leader of the band?
I am ending our week in Disney with this picture of how most days ended at the park, when Ian and Kaylyn were toddlers. The best part of the entertainment was how it would make everyone happy. Ian didn't like the rides as much, but he loved the parades, live shows and movies. The Muppet Experience was his favorite. Ian and Kaylyn have both enriched our lives with their love of music and performing. When Ian was in eighth grade, he joined the high school band. They were going to Disney that year, and we were very excited to go witness this. It was so much fun. We were able to spend time with family from Florida and catch up with our own high school classmates. Then there was the next trip, when he was was the drum major, and he lead the band walking backwards through Walt Disney World and Universal. That last trip Glen and I would stay at the Swan, which we could enter at Epcot. What a great experience that it is, to be able to go to the restaurants and see the fireworks and just walk back to our room. Kaylyn had the lead in the school play, so she couldn't miss practice. I am pretty sure that was our last trip to Disney.
There was a special time Zandra and I went. We went on a scrapbook cruise with Anna Griffin who taught six classes. We left from Miami and we were able to fly into Orlando and go to Disney. We also, went on the way home because it was so easy. Orlando airport is really easy to rent a car from.
These two trips we just concentrated on taking pictures of the castle and getting a bench at the Castle to watch the Wish fireworks display. I bought the CD music of that show, and would listen to it, whenever I needed my spirits lifted.
I really enjoyed revisiting Disney this week. It always has and always will lift my spirits. I think mainly because I wanted to go so bad when it first opened in Florida. And each time, even though we may have missed something, I knew we could go back. Chances
are, there will be something missed with all of the lines and people trying to be at the same place at the same time. I enjoy the retail part of it too, and always appreciated their merchandising, attention to detail and superb customer service. But, there are so many lessons to be learned, especially about anticipation. Patience is key.
So, to get though this time of a pandemic, we could use this lesson on anticipation. All good things are worth waiting for. Who's the Leader of the Band Mic.....See you real soon......key Y (why)because we love you. Just realized as I wrote this when you spell out the word Mickey that way, there is the word KEY in the word Mickey. So, there we go, we all hold the key to our wishes and dreams. The key is patience.
