Faith Hope Love
Today is the first day I am really having a hard time writing. Good Friday is always a tough day for me to get through. I feel all the feels. Then today I try to feel better and Easter I am supposed to feel like celebrating. For some reason it is a lot of work to be happy by the time Easter comes. I think maybe with each Easter comes the realization of how many aren't "with us" anymore. So, I am putting my grandma hat (bonnet) on and truly reflecting today. Sure, I won't be spending time with my new grandson and family. But, we have a grandson. He is cute as can be and the thought of him can raise my spirits in a heartbeat!
I went through something similar when Glen and I were trying to have children. After many years of not feeling the holidays, as much, I ended up going back to college. My first class was Renaissance Art with Sister Christina Geis. Another summer class, where I think it was four hours every day for three weeks. I was in love. I loved to watch the slides and her talking about her time in Italy. I'll never forget almost everyday she would say "when you go to Italy". Honestly I never thought I would get there.
I am going to try to find the pictures of when my mom and I went. I would love to think of that happy time with her. It was ten years after I graduated college and the twins were about nine years old. It ended up we stayed in Vatican City for three days and I couldn't get to the Sistine Chapel. I went to leave for the bus for St. Peter's and buy tickets for the tour at the desk. The girl at the desk said they stopped selling tickets at noon. It was 12:15!!!! We were going to St. Peter's for Palm Sunday, and I was leaving on Monday. So, about fifteen years later Glen and I were able to go.
I am sharing this great video about St. Peters. It is the only place I am physically and spiritually moved. I feel like I have to sit down, because I am so overwhelmed by it's greatness.
Sometimes to think of the past, helps me to move forward. But, I can't dwell in it too long. I am happy to get back into purging and sorting through my scrap room. It has bags of all my crafting supplies, since 2012. I am right on schedule for eBay. Monday is the day I should start posting. I am having trouble listing with my computer, so I have that to work on too.
