Let the Light In

When you go to the National Gallery in London , there is room 61.  It is a room with paintings from Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci and Raphael.  It is pretty astounding.  I was amazed most of the time we were in the room by ourselves. It gave us lots of time to take in the beauty and richness of the Masters of the Renaissance.  I am comforted by how St. Catharine's was inspired by St. Peter's in Rome.  Raphael's work shows some examples of the architecture of the Renaissance. Yesterday when I shared the video on St. Peters, I went back to it.  I had some time and realized I never really paid much time to Raphael.  I always loved his cherub angels, but didn't know he died at such an early age.  I think he died when he was 38.  But, left a massive amount of work.  So, I read about him for a couple of hours.
