Follow Your Heart

Watching the news leaves me so confused and hopeless.  Governor Murphy made New Jersey's guidelines stricter, in response to being a bad week as far as the curve.   Personally, I will do drive thru for anything I need from now on.  I don't know why, but I don't like the thought of wearing a mask, or looking at a bunch of masked people.  It makes me feel really uncomfortable.  I liked the idea, if you had symptoms, to wear one.  I would make sure to stay farther away from them.
I thought to myself in the morning I would go to Holland Ridge farms to lift my spirits.  You can pay online and have them put $4.99 bouquets of ten tulips in the trunk of your car.  No personal contact, so I felt good with the idea.  As, I got on 195W the road was pretty barren.  Then the big signs, blinking AVOID TRAVEL.  I was listening to music and enjoying the ride, anyway.  Then I started to feel like a rebel, when I heard " Thunderoad" on Sirius radio channel 20, Bruce Springsteen channel.   Then I thought, if I was wearing a bandana I would look like a bandit.  So, I successfully bought the tulips and went on my way.  My GPS sent me on county line road to take me home.  A road less traveled, and then the song "Soul Driver" came on.  ( I drive a Kia Soul) So,  all in all, I felt good with my decision.
The bottom line is I don't like the feeling of being trapped.  I love my freedom.  I know it is important to stay home to lower the curve.  I also feel the human spirit is just as important.  I also heard the song "I get up and go to work each day" and that is how to get to the Promised Land.  I've given that up for the sake of the virus.  I stay home.  But, the thought of a field of beautiful tulips, that will only be there for two weeks and no one there to enjoy them, was driving me crazy.
Today, it will be easy to stay home.  Always a day of reflection for me.  I won't be on the computer, much.  It is really windy, chilly, but the sun is out.
Looking forward to Easter and the tulips will brighten the weekend at home, for sure!  Hope you follow your hearts and find something to lift your spirits, safely!  Baby, It's Alright!
