Make Lemonade! My Ebay store is my lemon-ade stand! When setting goals it is REALLY important to make it fun! Especially, if you are working full-time! Coincidentally, I have re-connected with neighbors from more then forty years ago, who were my best customers. And, they commented on facebook how I drew when I was kid. It's SO important to try to capture those glory days. I have been watching Anne with an E on Netflix. It is reminding me of how I was as a little girl. Reminding me of days spent in a fort my brother built, spending time at the edge of a pond, running through fields and woods, and most of all using my imagination. The poor girl (Anne) would get into trouble every time she used her imagination. When is Anne ever going to learn to stop talking? That is where I was different. I was quiet and kept my imagination to myself, for fear of getting into trouble. It is really sad, because as we age and go to school we are taught to be quiet, behave and God forbid DON'T be rediculous. It becomes a job to break down all those behaviors and find joy in the simple things, again. One of the framed pictures reads: "to go through life with airy dreams and hopes of a child is a gift". I bought that for myself when my children were about ten and I was creating a space in the house for myself and my art supplies. I understand you can't go back and the importance of growing. But, lately I have been paying attention to my roots and my foundation. Because, those have to be strongest in order to grow along in life and be happy. Quote for the day: Every child is an artist.  I love Sunday mornings.  I love to reflect on the past week and look forward to the start of another.  What I learned this week painting, was what working on the minis, made me realize.  The first one I was looking at the flower more while painting and by the third I felt more free and the brush just took me to the painting.  I was in more of a flow.  So, the more time I take, the less I had to think about it, and could just enjoy it happening.  Like life, right? I learned from the computer there is a park in Roosevelt Island called Four Freedoms and currently has a staircase covered in a huge image of sunflowers in a field celebrating the 100th year of the womens' vote. It is also in Eleanor Roosevelt's honor.  So, I'll be sharing a lot of her quotes.  It was a good week for Ian as he was featured in a cover story in the Tri-City news.  Kaylyn  is busy working and taking good care of my grandson.  He is growing fast and has six big painful teeth already!   Love seeing all

Two Hearts Are Better Then One

Then in the beat of a heartbeat, (well, really two) our whole world changed.  Our world became a whirlwind.  We lived in the town where we went to high school.  We owned two homes in town and the one we lived in had a pool.  Our children were involved in every recreational sport they could join.  And, there was chorus, band concerts, and school plays to attend.  It was the good life.  I remember how emotional I would get at many shows.  I cried like a baby the first one.  Their recorder concert was another story.   Out of anyone in my family, I knew my dad would really enjoy it.  He was in the middle stages of Alzhiemers and I had to get up several times to bring him back to our seats.  That was the last show he attended.  We lost my dad when my children were eleven.  My mom and brother joined us every holiday.  We rarely went out unless we could walk there, and be close by.  And, we would go to fundraisers.  By the time the children were two, we were able to go on  cruises, and many

My World in Blue and White Project

This is a blog post about the first three months of 2021 during a pandemic. I am a work in process and have learned most of all the importance of living in the moment. I have learned a LOT from doing daily practices. Making goals in my Ebay shop. Learning about Women Artists and taking some classes. Clearing out the past of "stuff" in my basement. And, best of all being the best "4 year old self" possible. I am going to list Five links of Women who have influenced me the most in living life in the moment and creating daily practices. Their resources are mostly free and have endless amounts of inspiration. My main goal is to do this with the resources I already have on hand and keep the costs down as much as possible.
