What am I doing?

If you follow me on instagram or facebook, you may have noticed I am up to something. Most of all I am thinking and creating outside the box. It all started when I was making a gift for my friend's birthday in October. I follow Graphic's Fairy, a website that uses graphics and makes them available to print in digital designs or to print for crafting. So, while I made it, I was having so much fun, I thought I should make more. When I gave the gift to my friend, she told me she started painting a self portrait every day. She saw there were thirty day challenges, so she plans on painting thirty self portraits. I get a lot of emails of sites I follow and one of them is called Creative Sprint. It is run by Noah Scalin (who I met at a Etsy Symposium) and his sister. It is a thirty day challenge and October prompts started arriving in my email. I started making another box, and I thought I should make this a thirty day challenge, too. Within minutes, I had thirty themes to make thirty different boxes. After I posted the second box, I got a private message. The message asked if I was selling the boxes. At the time I didn't even think about that. But, I answered Yes I am. I even priced them starting at $19.99 in an auction format. Since October is my birthday month, I already planned on not listing anything on Ebay. To relist seventy items is enough to keep up with and I wanted to keep space on my phone for photographing and video taping my grandson. So, in November I will be listing them. Each box has a theme and will have some sort of gift item inside. I have lots of small collections, and this will give me a way to sell some small miscellaneous items. I will then have 30 items to post making a total of 100 listings by the end of the year. WOAHHHHH!!! This is not how I intended for October to be! But, it happened and it is FUN. And, I am getting it DONE. I was able to travel for three days, make four boxes, photograph, video each one and post on instagram and facebook. Creative Sprint challenge has begun and most of all it is fun. Thank you to Graphics Fairy for making it so easy. My 2020 datebook is impressionism and I was going to cut it up to make boxes. The impressionism bundle it a dream come true. I use the images and print on sticker paper. No messy glues or mod podge needed! Each week I will give a summary of the boxes. I hope you enjoy following along. Oh, I have enough cigar boxes because we used to cover them with vinyl record covers and record sleeves for my store Greetings from Geralyn. During this time of isolation and reflection, I am going to embrace and celebrate this little girl. I am not going to go on a diet, plan an excercise stragedy or change my lifestyle. I am simply going to go with the flow of my life, like a river. I am going to get on a big, comfortable floaty and jump in the river. Climb onto the floaty and hold on for dear life. I am going to put my head back and enjoy the ride. With my eyes wide open, so I can appreciate all the beauty that surrounds me. If I bump into any obstacles, I am going to take them as they come. I am not going to let anything stop me from the joy of a river ride. I am going to listen to music, soak in the sun, handle all of my problems, eat what makes me feel good (hopefully it will be more healthy) and breath in the good and take a big exhale of the bad. Peace Be With You

Living alone with the holidays quickly approaching can be difficult. I indulged in something for myself this year. It is an advent calender from Lauduree with parisian sweets. I am kinda obsessed with Lauderee. It is a french bakery and confectionery store originating in Paris. I became familiar with it from social media and artists who would paint pictures of macarons. I collected a few cookbooks. And, when Kaylyn and I visited Paris in 2008, it was high on my list of places to visit. It had a line outside and it was very cold. I hate to admit this, but I wanted the bag, tissue paper and ribbon more then anything. I still have it, because I would like to do some crafting with it. I want to decopauge shells and make a mobile as a homage to where I am living. Take Joy

I finished the wreath! I haven't been able to accomplish so much in one day in a lonnnng time. Bought a tree and had it decorated by 3pm! I am amazed and found joy in doing it. Here is something I read in the beginning of December, which always helps: I salute you. I am your friend, and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not. But there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take. No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take heaven!
