Put Fun in Getting it Done

October has only a few days left, so I can safely say in my most irish way. "It's been the best ever!" Woah! That totally goes against my belief system. I am a big believer in Murphy's Law and you never say anything like that, before something is over or something will go wrong. As I am getting older, I am making a conscience effort of not having that way of thinking. It sucks the joy out of the everyday. I also am proud of myself for creating a goal for myself and finishing a few days early. It gives me time to get a head start in getting ready for November. Really looking forward to my children's favorite holiday: Thanksgiving! I was a born procrastinator and am relishing not putting as much off and getting things done. But, not only getting done, having fun while I am at it. No dreading, no guilt, no regrets, no distractions, just focusing and finishing. Letting go and downsizing can be daunting. But, having the idea of making these boxes to sell little items will put a big dent in getting rid of the amount of "stuff" I own. It also allowed myself to go easier on myself. Most of the supplies I own right now is because of the cardmaking I did for the store. We never had a big sale to sell everything off. We brought it all back into our home. Selling on ebay comes with some challenges. I have now conquered the space on my computer and phone for photo storage. That includes deleting items on both as each item is listed. I bought a Shotbox by We R Memory keepers and will use the black backround for photos for the November listings. I will schedule listings and list something every day in November. Knowing I was able to accomplish this by posting a picture each day in October. I took a break in October and saw a significant slowdown in selling. But, the good news is I am shipping out the 5th box of the halloween boxes I made. I only have one available to sell. And, that is the biggest validation of success, because that really made a dent in what I am letting go of. Also, I really enjoyed making the boxes and I am so glad someone else is going to enjoy them now. The pumpking pictured I have been seeing a lot of pictures of painted in pumpkins. So, I actually did this punmpkin for my kitchen. I also have photograph envy when I am on instagram. So, I am stepping up and trying to make more instagram worthy photos. I am really glad to have the light box now, because the weather is horrible for natural lighting. Halloween is always fun seeing all the kids and families pictures on social media. The weather and circumstances arent't the best. But, afterall it is the creativity of Halloween (and the chocolate) that makes it one of my favorite days of the year!
