Golden Years
As I am approaching the golden years of my life, I truly want to make them golden, joyful and full of life. Covid was an eye opener in so many ways. But, most of all how short life is. It seems every ten years I have gone through some kind of loss, and out of it came personal growth. What I am going through this year compares to no other time in my life, but it is becoming exciting for it's propects. And, that is surprising me. The picture above is a from a retreat I took in about 2005 or 2006. It was called Creative Escape, and I am wearing one of the first Vera Bradley bags I ever bought.
I am going to be talking about the magic of manifesting and intention setting in my life. I am going to go backwards. It ends up, I think I am just on a creative retreat making memory keeping (scrapbooking) crafts. But, actually the three classes I remember most. I had dreams of the future as I was creating. And, those dreams came true in a matter of years. One, was rubber stamping a Paris layout and thinking about visiting Paris with my daughter. That happened in 2008. The other was a scrapbook made with questions like "What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail?". Opening a store was realized in 2011. And, the other was a 21 day journal challenge with quotes for each day. I was read the quote of the day in the beginning of the class. To me, it was one of the most powerful words I had ever heard and made me feel powerful. It made me feel I had the power in my mind to achieve any goal I focused my thoughts on. Completely, not expecting these thoughts to come true. Because, let's face it, how many dreams and good thoughts do we have that don't come true. And, that would be all the thoughts I had sitting at a slot machine. For all time I ever sat there, I never ever had that giant jackpot ring with a life changing win.
QUOTE of the day: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
