Life gives you lemons.....make margaritas!

Always buy the pictures, too! Make the most out of life and have no regrets. I was the kid by August, I wanted money to go down the street to see a movie or buy some candy. I was tired of the beach, and would rather sit outside and have a lemonade stand. During that time we always had kool-aid, lemonade, iced tea or even tang on hand. Making drinks from powder was really economical and convenient. But, thinking of what I did when I had my stand, it makes me know who I am as a worker. I am a self starter, for sure! I always tried to sell what I already owned. If I bought a comic and read it, I resold it. I always had to have some kind of pretty tablecloth. I started counting cars and would write it down. I figured out when people were leaving the beach, and that would be the best time to set up. My neighbors were my best customers! When we traveled I was always envious of other countries. How Artisans would have stands and booths on prime real estate. Especially, at all the ports of cruiselines. What a wonderful opportunity for Artisans. When we had our store in Asbury Park, it really made a big wish of mine come true. With covid it reversed all of this for store owners who had prime resort space. No one was coming. So, just by talking to one manufacturer's rep a month ago. She turned my hopeless way of thinking around. She told me about a store owner in Cape May who has huge success and even bought a warehouse and is just selling home decor. She said she has her own app and has been selling live on facebook and instagram. I checked it out and was amazed! And, I think the businesses who could bring their storefronts into people's home were able to survive these unsure times. But, I do get sick of everyone trying to sell me something all the time! So, with my new endeavor consider me with a lemonade stand. You can pass me by or stop. It's your choice. I am starting a facebook group and would love for you to join us. During this time of isolation and reflection, I am going to embrace and celebrate this little girl. I am not going to go on a diet, plan an excercise stragedy or change my lifestyle. I am simply going to go with the flow of my life, like a river. I am going to get on a big, comfortable floaty and jump in the river. Climb onto the floaty and hold on for dear life. I am going to put my head back and enjoy the ride. With my eyes wide open, so I can appreciate all the beauty that surrounds me. If I bump into any obstacles, I am going to take them as they come. I am going to listen to music, soak in the sun, handle all of my problems, eat what makes me feel good (hopefully it will be more healthy) and breath in the good and take a big exhale of the bad. Peace Be With You

Living alone with the holidays quickly approaching can be difficult. I indulged in something for myself this year. It is an advent calender from Lauduree with parisian sweets. I am kinda obsessed with Lauderee. It is a french bakery and confectionery store originating in Paris. I became familiar with it from social media and artists who would paint pictures of macarons. I collected a few cookbooks. And, when Kaylyn and I visited Paris in 2008, it was high on my list of places to visit. It had a line outside and it was very cold. I hate to admit this, but I wanted the bag, tissue paper and ribbon more then anything. I still have it, because I would like to do some crafting with it. I want to decopauge shells and make a mobile as a homage to where I am living. Take Joy

I finished the wreath! I haven't been able to accomplish so much in one day in a lonnnng time. Bought a tree and had it decorated by 3pm! I am amazed and found joy in doing it. Here is something I read in the beginning of December, which always helps: I salute you. I am your friend, and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not. But there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take. No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take heaven! No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present little instant. Take peace! The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach, is joy.
