Good Morning Glory!

Oh the lessons these morning glories are teaching me!  This summer I made a conscience effort to garden more.  I am back to working full time and when the weather gets really hot like this it becomes a challenge.
So, what the one above taught me was about control.  I haven't planted morning glory seeds in the front yard in five years.  I buy the seeds and the packets sit on the window sill until I throw them out a year later.  This year these morning glories appeared all along the base of my house.  Glen mulched the roses like every other year.  And, these morning glories have climbed my big bush in front of my window.  They also are climbing a yellow rose bush.  When I first discovered them I tried to guide them to climb my window.  Hmmm.... I pulled them right out of the ground.  The ones climbing the roses I decided to pull them out while I pruned the deadhead roses.  Today I saw the first bloom right in the middle of the big bush. I took a picture and then went in the house to get some pushpins to help them climb the window.  I was so excited to see a new bloom.  But, two fell off the vine.
But, the tack worked and I can't wait to see what they will look like tomorrow morning.   So, in the backyard I have planted the morning glory seeds and I don't see any flower buds, yet.  So,  this taught me about control.  By trying to control them earlier, I caused them to stop growing out of the ground.  Just leaving them alone, they fought their way to find the most sun possible.  By letting go, I had success of seeing them grow and flourish.  So, it is teaching me to relax more, lower my expectations and just have patience to see how things happen on their own.
But, this morning I did put the tack in to guide them to reach the sun and be seen and appreciated.  So, in the end I did need to make an effort.  With the effort I was treated to seeing a new flower I had not seen before.   So, this morning I am really appreciative of how I took the early morning to tend to the garden.  Most mornings I tend to myself first to eat breakfast and get ready for work and rush to get everything watered, before  I run out the door.
So, back to the morning glories growing up my yellow bush.  I spent some time to separate the vines and see if I could guide those to the house, also.  Nope,  the thorns were starting to hurt, and it just wasn't worth it.  So, I left them alone.  But, do I want yellow roses or morning glories.  I have to make a decision or do I?  So, I left the morning glories to tend for themselves and see if they make me crazy strangling my roses or put on a more beautiful show then my rose ever could.  We'll see!
I really hope I can untangle them and get them to the shutter.  By, taking some time I hope to come up with a solution, so they both flourish.
These are the morning glories in the back yard.  They don't get the morning sun like the front.  But, I think in a few weeks they may catch up with the front.  I have two planters and this one is doing much better then the other.  I think because it gets more morning sun the other.
I really want some heavenly blue flowers and hoping these will produce some!
So, let go, be patient, put in some effort and enjoy the show!   Lessons learned from growing morning glories!
